The Uplift Project, Inc., (UPI), is a nonprofit, 501(C) (3) organization formed in 2002 whose mission is to prepare today for tomorrow’s success through:
- Social Action and Youth initiatives involving education and character improvement
- Public Awareness Forums focusing on social, economic, and health related issues
- Strategic Leadership Development, and Community Development

Social Action and Youth Initiatives now focus on various ways to ensure academic success of those youth who are disadvantaged and misguided. Public Awareness work evolves around hosting community forums to educate and discuss issues that face the community: education, health, economic development, etc. Strategic Leadership and Community Development currently centers around formulating collaborative initiatives with other organizations in order to achieve community objective of closing the achievement gap, reducing crime and violence, and empowering individuals to make appropriate life long decisions.
