The
Uplift Project, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization established
in 2002 to address social action concerns. UPI focuses on the following
issues:
Education
(programs to ensure academic success of our disadvantaged and at-risk
youth);
Community Awareness (implementing and sponsoring community
forums to educate, discuss, and disseminate information regarding education,
health, and economic development;
Leadership Development (formulating collaborative initiatives
with other organizations in order to achieve community objectives of
closing the achievement gap, reducing crime and violence, and empowering
individuals to make appropriate life long decisions. Currently, UPI
is in partnership with the Beta Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity,
Inc to develop and implement effective mentoring programs for African-American
males)
